LAW COSTS DRAFTING
Most
Costs Draftsmen learn how to draft a Bill of Costs and then follow
that pattern until there is a mandatory change in the required format
of a
Bill (such as occurred upon the introduction of the CPR in April
1999).
However at Gilligan & Company we recognise that the law changes
daily and such changes must be reflected in the manner in which the
Bill is drawn. To neglect these changes is to commit financial
suicide!
Gilligan & Company undertakes all types of civil costs drafting
but specialises in Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence and Professional
Negligence.
We take great pride in the quality of our work, ensuring that each
and every Bill of Costs is accurate, neatly presented and complete
(see sample).
As part of our basic service we endeavour to obtain details of missing
fees and, where appropriate, arrange for duplicate fee notes/receipts
to be issued.
All files are bundled for detailed assessment in accordance with CPR
and where matters need to be brought to the conducting solicitor's
attention, a succinct note is prepared and accompanies every Bill of
Costs.
